Warner Bros. has debuted the first trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a movie which will see Godzilla contend with fellow monsters Mothra, Rodan and the three-headed King Ghidorah. The trailer was first shown at the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con, before being released online.
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
In addition, the SDCC exclusive poster for the film has been released, teasing the fight everybody is anticipating: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. The artwork for the poster was created by Christopher Shy.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released on May 31, 2019. It is directed by Michael Dougherty and stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi.
